Monthly memberships only, and no free trial. Membership minutes refresh every month; unused ones expire at the end of each billing month. Memberships renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, and you manage or cancel them in your App Store settings.
Minute packs
Top up once. Keep them forever.
Pack minutes never expire, and they work with or without a membership. If you have both, membership minutes are used first.

Pricing questions
What counts as a minute?
One minute of voiced audio uses one minute, for a single narrator or two hosts alike. Minutes are taken when you choose to voice an episode. If voicing fails or you cancel it before the audio exists, they are returned to you.
Is there a free trial?
No. Instead, the free tier is yours to keep: the five free series, and one series of your own planned from start to finish, so you can see exactly what you'd be voicing before you pay.
Does planning cost minutes?
Never. Planning and steering a series is free for members and for anyone with pack minutes, up to 10 plans a day. Without a membership or minutes, you can plan one series of your own for free.
What is the extension fee?
On Curious Mind and with packs, a series can have up to 10 planned episodes. Each episode you add after that uses 2 extra minutes. Pro Scholar has no limit and no fee.
Can I switch plans?
Yes, in your App Store settings. Moving up to Pro Scholar takes effect straight away; moving down to Curious Mind takes effect at your next renewal.
Are there any limits?
To keep Hearl fair and running for everyone, each account can make up to 10 plans a day and voice up to 300 minutes per calendar month, on any plan. A series can use up to 10 of your own sources, and you can add up to 30 sources a day.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel any time in iPhone Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. You keep your membership until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. More in Support.
